Duties
The Program Manager-Global, Corporate & Community Relations plays a critical and instrumental role in the development, administration, and implementation of continuing education, professional development and training courses and programs, such as those offered through the Athens State University LaunchBox at the Center for Lifelong Learning and other academic, employer, and community-based initiatives through the Department of Global, Corporate and Community Relations. These programs are offered across a variety of modalities including in-person, hybrid, and online and cover a range of disciplines such as leadership, business development, career success, youth enrichment, and entrepreneurship to support the lifetime educational journey of area employers and residents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop and implement continuing education and noncredit academic, professional development, personal enrichment, and training programs.
Role will require procurement and oversight of contract trainers in noncredit, skill based fields such as business technologies, cyber/IT, and leadership, as well as other programming as determined by the strategic and operational plan, both existing and in the future.
Instruction, or instructional support, as appropriate and as needed.
Direct a strong summer youth camp program and identify opportunities to expand youth development throughout Limestone County and the surrounding service area.
Position will lead the Athens State STEAM Roller–a mobile STEM lab coordinating with local elementary schools and after school organizations.
Support LaunchBox efforts through programmatic design in areas such as small business development and entrepreneurship.
Position will teach and lead the StartUP Limestone initiative targeting pre-launch entrepreneurs.
Possess ability to work directly with academic leadership, career development, faculty, subject matter experts, employers and vendors in the pursuit of microcredentials and training to meet local and regional needs.
Identify and respond to strategic opportunities to leverage programs to meet revenue targets, including global markets.
Coordination/liaison for Learning Partnerships (prospects/new/established) with Academic Affairs and other stakeholders
Develop and maintain an up-to-date course catalog and learning management system.
Contribute to the development of external funding alliances and grant opportunities to expand the Center for Lifelong Learning and LaunchBox offerings into new markets and audiences.
Track budget, expenditures, and enrollment associated with programs. Negotiate contracts, maintain enrollment and financial records, verify invoices, and provide reports on programs.
Recommend for hire and provide oversight of instructional staff through supervision and evaluations.
Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to changing work scope and tasks based on need.
Actively works towards building cooperative and collaborative relationships with peers and internal faculty and staff.
Maintains “open door” to internal and external customers.
Identifies opportunities for improvements to work practices and offers viable solutions for implementation.
Proactively engages in problem solving related to tasks in this position with internal and external people.
Routinely practices self-monitoring by assessing self to make improvements or take
corrective action to improve performance.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of full-time experience directing or leading programs with tangible results.
Demonstrable understanding of extended, distance or continuing education.
Must be self-motivated, energetic, and creative individual with proven leadership, planning, and administrative skills
Ability to work in an ambiguous, shifting environment with little instruction.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
● Master’s degree in related field.
● Knowledge and experience of program development and curriculum design.
● 8+ years of full-time experience directing programs in one or more of the following: higher. education, corporate training or educational platform providers, program development, design, or operations management.
● Experience leading professional development workshops or courses. Teaching experience may substitute.
● Experience with employer outreach and programming
Experience with badging and credentialing
Salary Schedule
Salary Band: P275
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications
